Why Operational Control Matters in Early Venture Ownership

Chairman's note. In the early life of a venture, value is not created in a pitch deck. It is created in the operating details — the workflows, the unit economics, the quality of execution that customers actually experience.

We hold a strong preference for operational control. Owning the operating layer means we can move deliberately, protect quality, and compound improvements that would be invisible to a passive owner.

Operational control is not micromanagement. It is proximity. It is staying close enough to the work to understand where leverage truly lives, and disciplined enough to invest in the systems that make a venture durable.

This is a foundational principle of how MyKros operates, and one we expect to return to often.
